English Camp for Teachers is one of Taruna Nusantara program as one of Internationally Standardized Schools in Indonesia (RSBI). The aim of this program is basically to improve teachers’ English skills while having some outdoor activities. This time, we held the program in Kaliurang in the slope of Merapi mountain. So, the cold breeze of the air and the beautiful view of Merapi gave additional sensation for the participants. Other than that, the program is used to build a network with other institution, in this time we collaborate with Real English Yogyakarta.
In the English Camp, the teachers were divided into 6 groups and assigned to accomplish 4 types of the games; Trivia Quiz, Scrabble, Mimicking Game, and Whispering Game, respectively. The teachers were very enthusiastic to compete each other, more over, they have their group’s name such as The Godfathers, The Deadly Roses, The Soaring Eagles, The Fast and Furious, The Dark Knights, and The Titans.
Overall, the program was a great success and it is possible to carry out the same program next year. The motto as written on the shirt is “Mind Your English, fellas!”
